Youngsters enjoyed a spooky Halloween party at a garden centre in Whitchurch.

One party was held last night and another will take place this evening from 5-7pm at Whitehall Garden Centre in Norton Lane.

David Manning, manager of the garden centre, said: "Children are getting the chance to show off their monster moves at our Halloween disco and play party games, including musical statues and sleeping lions.

"Youngsters have also been drawing frightening faces on pumpkins and our staff are helping carve their designs.

"We are hosting a fancy dress competition to find the spookiest costume. Children can dress up as anything they like and there are prizes for the best dressed. The winning boy will receive a selection of board games and the winning girl will receive a ceramic mug to paint."

Tickets for tonight's party, which includes a meal from a Halloween menu, cost £7.99 per child and are available from the garden centre's reception.
