A woman with a fear of heights abseiled down the Avon Gorge to raise money for the Help for Heroes charity.

Lindy Foster, 45, pictured, a mother-of-two from Swanmoor Crescent, Henbury, abseiled down the 80ft rock face with her son Craig, 18, sister-in-law Tina Adams, 45, and nephews Jason, 21, and Keiran, 16, from Emersons Green.

Five friends from Lindy's office were also roped into the challenge to support the charity. Lindy also overcame her fear to do a charity skydive last year. All the money raised from the abseiling event will go to Help for Heroes, which provides practical support to those servicemen and women wounded in action.
