A Cotham trumpeter who performs in the army's Coldstream Guards is celebrating the success of latest CD.

Lance Sergeant Phil Scott, 40, is one of the performers responsible for Heroes the latest CD from the band which has already sold 100,000 copies just 10 days after its release.

Lance Sergeant Scott joined the Band of the Coldstream Guards as a trumpeter in 1997, performing at state, ceremonial and band concerts in the UK and around the world, including the USA, Australia, Japan, Switzerland, Italy and Kuwait.

He is also an accomplished singer, who sang at the Windsor Castle Royal Tattoo last summer when attended by The Queen.

On behalf of the band, Lt Col Graham Jones, senior director of music, said:"We are delighted with public support we have received. The album contains 15 evergreen favourites including The Dam Busters March, 633 Squadron and the Gladiators theme.

"We are hoping that with continued public support the CD will go platinum, selling 250,000 over the Christmas period."

Profits from the sale of the CD will contribute to the Coldstream Guards charity to support its members and their families affected by conflict.
