They were approached by four black men who demanded they hand over their mobile phones. When they tried to resist they were punched in the face and kicked. The men stole three mobile phones, a silver iPod Nano, a silver chain with flat circular hoops and a black wallet containing bank cards.

One of the muggers was aged 18 to 20, 6ft 3ins tall, of skinny build, wearing a black jacket or jumper and black trousers.

The second and third men were described as being of similar age, 5ft 10ins tall of medium build and wearing all black clothing. The fourth offender was aged 15 to 17, 5ft 8in tall, of medium build and had a high-pitched voice.

It happened on Saturday, August 15, at about 9.30pm. Witnesses are urged to call Staple Hill CID on 0845 456 7000.

“If they stood up for themselves they would still have their stuff. Too much pandering of wet blankets and mummies boys these days. When I got mugged it was at knifepoint and once at gunpoint. That's REAL mugging.”
