Bristol students get a sporting chance
Students in Speedwell tried sports and activities run by clubs throughout Bristol.
Youngsters from Bristol Brunel Academy tried judo, ultimate frisbee, cricket, karate, rugby, bouldering, and fencing.
Clubs including the West of England Schools Sailing Association, Bristol Storm Basketball Club and the Eternity Dance Academy promoted their sport at the special roadshow.
It is hoped that the variety of sports and activity will get them hooked so that they sign up to regular sessions to keep them active and healthy.
Geoff Davey, the academy's head of PE, said: "Promoting sporting opportunities is important part of getting young people to live a healthy lifestyle."
"If we can integrate physical activity into young people's lives now they will be more likely to be physically active in later life."
The event is linked to a nationwide Sport Unlimited programme which encourages young people to take up a sport and lead healthier lives.
