Bristol students invited to take part in Feel Good February
University of the West of England students are being invited to dispel the winter blues with a series of health and well-being events as part of Feel Good February.
From stress-busting workshops, to postural checks, health check- ups and a variety of complementary therapies such as Indian head massage, Alexander technique and aromatherapy, there are plenty of opportunities for students.
They can also try out a new sport such as cricket, frisbee golf, Tae Kwon Do, trampoline, ultimate frisbee and volleyball, or get fit with pilates or a lunchtime walk.
A range of student volunteering events such as the Big Beach Clean 2009 are also planned.
Judy Orme, who leads UWE's healthy university group, said: "UWE is committed to improving the health and well-being of students, staff and the wider community. Nowadays, students frequently juggle their studies with work, as well as an active social life.
"Feel Good February is an opportunity for them to focus on themselves and how they feel. The taster sessions and activities on offer encourage everyone to become involved in new aspects of all that is on offer at UWE as well as incorporating some relaxation, fitness and health awareness into their busy lives."
