Bristol sex attacker hunted
A serial sex attacker is being hunted by police in Bristol.
Four women are reported to have been attacked - all in the Clifton area - over the past five weeks.
Avon and Somerset police said the attacks happened in the Whiteladies Road and Alma Road area.
Police said the attacks happened during the evening and early hours of the morning.
In each case lone women have been approached by an unknown man who has then indecently assaulted them.
Police said they had stepped up patrols in the area and carried out enquiries into the incidents, but are keen to speak to any witnesses.
Detective Inspector Ed Heath said: "I appreciate incidents like this are worrying to local people, but I would reassure them that these incidents are being investigated and we are doing everything possible to find the offender involved.
"We would appeal to anyone who may have any information or have witnessed such offences to come forward. Some women may also have experienced similar assaults but not reported them and so we are also keen to speak with them."
The offender in each case has been a white man, aged in his 20s, 5ft 10ins tall and wearing dark clothing.
Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives on 0117 945 5562 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
Meanwhile, police have dropped their investigation into allegations of a woman being raped on a path between Bridge Valley Road and the Portway.
The woman alleged that she had been attacked on Thursday, November 6 at about 6am.
Dan Mountain, a police spokesman, said: “The rape allegation is no longer being investigated and it is not connected with any of the four offences which are being investigated.”

“Well said Gary, Cornwall - at least someone has the story correct. Where the BEP got the rest of it from, only time will tell.”

Detectives in Bristol are reassuring Clifton residents after a series of reported attacks around the area in the last month.
During the last five weeks, four indecent assaults have been reported occurring in the Whiteladies Road and Alma Road areas of Clifton during the evening and early hours of the morning.
In each case lone females have been approached by an unknown man who has then indecently assaulted them.
Police have already stepped up patrols in the area and carried out a number of enquiries into the incidents, but are keen to reassure residents living around Clifton Down and speak to any witnesses.
Detective Inspector Ed Heath said: "I appreciate incidents like this are worrying to local people, but I would reassure them that these incidents are being investigated and we are doing everything possible to find the offender involved.
We would appeal to anyone who may have any information or have witnessed such offences to come forward. Some women may also have experienced similar assaults but not reported them and so we are also keen to speak with them.".
"None of the victims have suffered serious physical injury, but we are concerned and have increased patrols around the area." We would advise women to be aware of their surroundings at night and where possible walk in well lit areas or with friends.
During one of the incidents, a member of the public came to the aid of the victim.
The offender in each case has been a white male, aged in his 20s, 5ft 10ins tall and wearing dark clothing.

“Rape is never amusing and I deduce is very hard to decipher, people need to report near misses and unusual occurrences to help pad out the available evidence and help catch this creep. What surprised me was that this attack took place at 6am; I wrongly thought most attacks took place at night. The more people that know the better for everyone sack.”

“Absolutely. Male or female rape and sexual assaults are an issue for all ! We must work together to fight this problem not try and make light or joke about it only belittling what is an oppressive disempowering act that can manifest into murder.”

“Mary, if that's the description which all the women have given of their attacker, would you suggest the Police do *not* issue a description at all?”

“Ben It would be more surprising if they didn't see anyone in the area that fits that description. I would also call you names but you really are not worth it, try engaging your brain before making a comment”

“I was think more along the lines of the deep fried kind of batter. To be honest it this the police who are having a laugh if they think saying the man is a white man, aged in his 20s, 5ft 10ins tall and wearing dark clothing is going to help anyone.”
