A Bristol scout group's climbing frame destroyed in an arson attack was replaced by volunteers on Saturday.

The giant wooden structure outside the hut belonging to Bristol 197th (1st Stapleton) in a field off Stonechat Gardens was set alight in June.

The hut caters for around 40 Scouts, Cubs and Beavers, all of whom were devastated by the attack. But on Saturday, a working party of parents, Scouts, group leaders and community volunteers built five new structures to replace the climbing frame.

The group of around 20 worked under the guidance of Mark Hughes from Bigwood Play Frames in Bath. Afterwards there was a barbecue to say thank you to all those who gave their time and hard work to get the project going.

Some of the older children were also involved in the build designs.
