Samantha Mather from Redland High School wowed top chefs with her perfectly executed chocolate fondant in a Masterchef-style contest.

Samantha, 14, from Redland High School, triumphed in the competition for Year 9 students at her school and QEH boys' school.

The judges were Peter and Jonray Sanchez-Iglesias from the Michelin starred restaurant Casamia in Westbury-on-Trym, their newest recruit, James Day, and Tracey Naish, a food and cookery writer.

Girls from The Red Maids' School competed in the first stage of the event, which was the idea of Chris Brotherton, head of lower school at QEH.
