Bristol school chalks up its first half century
Burnbush Primary School in Stockwood is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Pupils staged an exhibition about life at the school over the years since its opening in 1958.
Staff and children dressed up in costumes reflecting fashions from the past half century for a birthday party and disco.
Next week the school marks the start of a new era, with the official opening of its new children's centre.
Head teacher Cat Dempsey said: "We are proud of what this school has achieved over the past 50 years and are looking forward to welcoming the children's centre on board as part of our extended service for the community. This is an exciting time for Burnbush."
