Orchestra, a local company based in Brislington, has raised funds for Bristol's only adult hospice during a year of fundraising efforts from staff and will be presenting them with a cheque for £500.

Glenda Scott, managing director of Orchestra, said: "All the staff voted to support our local hospice. It has unfortunately touched many of our lives, indeed, just last year a long serving member of staff Anne Bunting, sadly lost her battle with cancer and St Peters Hospice were there for Anne and her family. The service they provide at such a difficult time is very special."

Susan McLeod, corporate fundraiser at St Peter's Hospice said: "We're so grateful to Orchestra for making St Peter's Hospice their charity of the year and fundraising on our behalf, as we have announced the closure of our building in Knowle.

"It costs £5.5 million a year to provide our specialised care in the community so we really need the people of Bristol to continue their support and understanding in these difficult times as every penny really will make a difference."
