Bristol rugby confirm Mark Irish and Dan Montagu have left the club
BRISTOL have finally confirmed that both Mark Irish and Dan Montagu have left the club because "requirements have changed".
Bristol announced their list of retained players last Monday – and revealed both prop Irish and No 8 Montagu were leaving, only to swiftly remove the item from their website.

But chief executive Steve Gorvett has now confirmed the double departure, with Montagu being released two months after signing a one-year contract and Irish after serving one year of a two-year deal.
"Dan signed a new contract, which we had to put him under before the play-offs, but moving forward things have changed," said Gorvett.

"Mark has done a good job for us, but I think things do change and the requirements of the club have changed. We are trying to address that up front."
Gorvett issued a brief statement on Bristol's official club website, in which he thanked Irish, who made 130 appearances for the club, and Montagu, who played 82 times, for their efforts.
"Considering the future requirements of both the club and the individuals, the parties have agreed that it was in their mutual interest to part company at this point in time," he said. "The club would like to thank Montagu and Irish for their service to Bristol and wish them well for the future."
