Bristol road closed over mystery package
Part of Fishponds Road is closed this morning after police put up a cordon around Department of Social Security offices at the junction with Lodge Causeway.
Office workers were evacuated from the DSS building at 602 Fishponds Road after police were called in at about 8.30am today.
Police officials refused to reveal what was happening, simply calling it an 'incident'.
The Bristol Evening Post understands that the police response was sparked by a suspect package found at the premises.
The road was expected to remain closed for some time.

“More importantly, what about the parcel?!!
I'm guessing it was nothing sinister, as this would be big news.”

“Yes of course, the package is most likely nothing, it's just funny how obsessed this newspaper and it's readers are with their cars!! This article highlights that.”
