Debate on Bristol parking zone scheme
Councillors will meet on Monday, January 5, to discuss whether a controversial residents' parking scheme should go to a full Bristol City Council vote.
The Labour-run cabinet approved pilot parking zones for Brandon Hill, Clifton, and Kingsdown at a meeting in November but the Conservatives called in the decision.

A panel of councillors will discuss the proposal, which would see residents having to pay £30 for the right to park one vehicle, £110 for two and £310 for three.
The meeting takes place at 5.30pm at the Council House.

“'If any profits will be made'
They would have to be mentally retarded to not make a profit out of this, ignoring the fact that they're clearly planning to generate great revenue from it.”

“Or a jaundiced, prejudicial, myopic, preposterous, backward, ill-thought out, unbalanced, selfish and blinkered minority view on transportation.....”

“Hi Stan, no this is not Alex. But having said that, I can understand the confusion - he does have some well-thought out, balanced views on transportation..”

“Shame I can't get down there in time to show my full support for this scheme.
I'm wondering, if any profits are generated, how they will be used?
Some proper decent cycle lanes, a subsidised bus route, improved park and ride facilities?
Anyone know?
