Bristol pupils shine at concert
Proud parents packed the Colston Hall last night for the first of the Bristol Schools Music Society annual concerts. About 500 children from city primary schools were taking part in the gala event, with the theme We've Got Rhythm.
It will be a full house again tonight when another 500 youngsters join in the singing and dancing.
In total, 33 primary schools are involved in the concerts, which have been running for more than 30 years.
They were accompanied last night by a jazz band from Cotham School and tonight a steel pan band from the school will perform.
The conductors for the concerts are Kirsten Graham, Lucy Metcalfe and Pippa Reveley.
