Bristol pupils have designs on science challenge
Budding young engineers from the Ridings High School in Winterbourne will be taking part in an engineering challenge.
They are joining pupils from 210 other schools throughout the UK in the challenge, which will set them the task of researching, designing and making solutions to tough engineering problems.
The Institution of Engineering and Technology's Faraday engineering challenge days begin this week and aim to encourage more young people to study and consider careers in science, technology, engineering and maths.
Pupils at the Ridings will take part in the challenge in January. The day will involve a team of six 12 to 13-year-olds.
Three top teams will be selected for the final in 2010.
