Bristol pub garage drives local teenagers to display their art
Considering the gallery playing host to an exhibition of teenage art this weekend is in the garage of a Totterdown pub, it looks remarkably clean and white.
"This place was filthy when we started," says Lizzy Beech, one of the co-ordinators of the Teenage Art Project, launched to give local teens something to do on Saturday afternoons.

"The garage was used to store junk but we cleared it out, jet-washed the walls, filled in the holes and painted it."
Since September, art teacher Miss Beech and fellow project co-ordinator Lou Boyce, a director of local community interest group TRESA, have led a series of free workshops for Totterdown teenagers who have produced paintings, prints and collages of local landmarks for an exhibition.
The work, which includes impressive mono prints and Hockney-esque blue collages, will be on display at the Oxford Pub, Oxford Street, as part of the Front Room art trail, which starts tomorrow. Miss Beech, 34, said: "Since the local YMCA closed there's been nothing in Totterdown for teenagers to do.
"We've had a very positive response to the workshops and a good response from younger children and their parents as well."
All the work will be for sale but at £25 for a large piece, prices won't be high.
The art trail starts tonight from 6pm - 9pm. For more details, visit: www.frontroom.org.uk.
