Bristolian presenter Justin Lee Collins was reunited with his college drama teacher during a book-signing in the city.

Marie Baker, who taught the comedian at Filton College, was first in the queue to meet him as he promoted his book Good Times! at WHSmith in The Mall, Cribbs Causeway, yesterday evening.

The pair embraced before having a quick catch-up and he signed a copy of her book with a personal message.

Justin said: "I wrote a message in her book, 'I couldn't have done it without you'. Marie was wonderful and I would recommend Filton College to anyone doing performing arts or media in this area."

Ms Baker, 61, said: "I thought Justin would do well because he was always extremely focused. He was very talented, gifted and very much his own person."

More than 300 people turned up to meet the presenter and he spent about three hours speaking to them, hugging fans and posing for pictures. He answered various questions, including which brand of shampoo he uses.

“We would have to say this was one of the best Book signings we have been to (and we have done a few), friendly staff and what a good guy. We had been waiting since 2pm and it was well worth it. Justin must one of the most friendly celeb we have met, had a talk signed 3 books and 2 photos and then a photo with.

We would like to thank Justin and WHSmith for a great afternoon.”
