Bristol police learn about Ramadan
Police officers in Bristol learned about the Muslim festival of Ramadan at an event in St Paul's.
Ramadan is a month long period of worship that sees Muslims fast between dawn and sunset.

Officers went to St Paul's Learning Centre in Grosvenor Road last night to find out more, and share food and prayers with people from the Muslim community.
Sergeant Mark Aston said: "We are honoured to be invited to take part in this event. It demonstrates the good working relationship we have with the Muslim community in Bristol.
"We want to wish everyone a Happy Ramadan."

“Jon - bang on mate.
What people of foreign extraction, living in this country, believe in the privacy of their own homes, is up to them but it has no place impinging on native customs and life.
I doubt the police in Iran take much heed of Easter, Passover, Diwali etc?”

“Why on earth should the Police have to learn anything at all about other people's superstitions?
They are there to uphold the law and not pander to peoples' delusions.”

“Shame we don't put so much effort into St Georges day or our own religous festivals.”
