Bristol police to 'blitz' Shirehampton yobs
Bristol police sergeant Terry Scoble plans to "blitz" Shirehampton after a successful campaign in Henbury.
Sgt Scoble says he and his team will target anti-social behaviour in Shirehampton's High Street and surrounding area as part of Operation Brave.

The 42-year-old, who specialises in anti-social behaviour policing, believes matters in Henbury have improved sufficiently to broaden his team's efforts.
Sgt Scoble arrived in Henbury earlier this year and immediately installed a police presence on Crow Lane after a series of complaints about anti-social behaviour in the area.
He has also worked in conjunction with the Safer Bristol Partnership to secure injunctions and anti-social behaviour orders (Asbos) against the worst offenders in the area.
Their behaviour included street fights, being drunk and disorderly, threatening residents using the shops in Crow Lane and vandalising property.
The injunctions and Asbos banned named individuals from a designated area and from associating with each other.
Shopkeepers and shoppers questioned by the Evening Post in April said problems in the area had decreased significantly.
Now with the summer in full swing Mr Scoble is determined that residents in Shirehampton are not subjected to the same problems they suffered with anti-social behaviour last year.
He said: "With Henbury pretty much under control at the moment, we are now planning to blitz the Shirehampton area and tackle anti-social behaviour and related crimes.
"Last summer saw calls to Shirehampton to deal with alcohol-related anti-social behaviour at a level that the community nor us are prepared to tolerate this summer.
"The recently launched Pubwatch will have a positive impact but I plan to divert more resources into the area to combat nuisance behaviour. People acting in an anti-social manner can expect a robust response from the police.
"We will be tasking units as part of Operation Brave into Shirehampton, in particular the High Street and surrounding roads. The increased presence will be most visible at the time of peak demand, such as Friday evenings.
"We are in no way moving out of Henbury and are fully aware that work still needs to be done but we are in a position now where we can withdraw some resources from Henbury and target them elsewhere."
Volunteers are asked to meet at 10am at Penpole Tenants Association, The Ridge. Penpole Lane.

“Can you come to Bedminster next please. We need you! Our local store was robbed by yobs only yesterday and the store owner was badly hurt. It was so unprovoked and its getting worse around here. Not a day goes by when you don't hear about another yob related crime in the area. Its so frightening. And we desperately need help.”

“What part of Sea Mills are you from Sue? I agree with you completely. Sea Mills has got really bad over the years. Having lived in Lawrence Weston, Knowle, Stockwood and Sea Mills. I can honestly say that Sea Mills is the worst for anti-social behaviour. Closely followed by Stockwood. Being a "young person" myself It gives me a bad name. Was just wondering which side of sea mills you live on?”
