Bristol entrepreneurs Alex Narracott and Ed White have launched a new travel website for adventure seekers like themselves who care about the planet.

Alex and Ed, both 26, are building up a selection of action holidays, tours, courses and accommodation hand-picked to support conservation and community development projects happening around the world.

Alex said: "We decided to set up muchbetteradventures.com after we realised how difficult it was to find ethical adventure holidays.

"We were keen to provide a marketplace for the incredible number of small operators doing great work around the world to conserve our planet."

Since going live with two members a few months ago the site has grown quickly. Although it is still early days, the site already features nearly 100 holiday options to satisfy the adventure seeker and there are plenty more in the pipeline.

The site was founded with support from Open Platform, a Bristol-based programme, set up by the Schumacher Institute, dedicated to sustainable innovation.

The pair are also developing strong ties with organisations from the West Country, including The Converging World, The Travel Foundation, Forum for the Future and Sustrans.

Alex grew up in Bristol and Ed in Tetbury. They have funded the venture with their own savings, to maintain independence and the spirit that inspired the original concept.
