Bristol man voted off Britain's Got Talent
Bristol escapologist Merlin Cadogan was voted off Britain's Got Talent at the semi-final stage last night.
Now living in Devon, Merlin, 35, grew up in Bristol, living in Henleaze and on the Gloucester Road among other places. He also set up his first business, Juggling Wizardry, in the city when he was 18.

Speaking to the Bristol Evening Post shortly before the live ITV show last night, Merlin said: "I'm feeling quite nervous ... I'll be performing something very dangerous."
He later freed himself from a straitjacket while hanging from a burning rope over the stage and said: "My life was literally on the line."
Impressed judge Simon Cowell said: "Anyone who's prepared to die on this show gets 10 out of 10 from me."
But it wasn't enough to save him when the public voted.

“Hmm - that is a good question Gerry, do you think the producers pick which ones reardless of the public vote?”

“At least last night the greek man and his son went thru on the public vote - otherwise that would have been yet another singer and dance act. But it is the public who vote so you can't really blame the show.”

“I agree - some very talented people Merlin included have been dismissed over singers. Isn't singing what the X Factor show is for??”

“Merlin - you were fantastic, shame it isn't really a talent show, just a show fo singers and dancers. Best of luck for the future, you were brill at BAWA by the way.”
