Two men have been arrested after a suspected assault in Bristol which left a third in hospital.

The incident happened at around 1.20am this morning in Bath Road, Brislington.

Police were called to a disturbance in the street, which left a 24-year-old man with head injuries.

He was taken to the Bristol Royal Infirmary for treatment but his injuries are not thought to be serious.

A 35-year-old man and a 36-year-old man were arrested and are currently still in custody.

Police cordoned off a section of the road while officers investigated the incident.
