A man was so fed up with the disruption from a JCB working near his home that he stood in front of it, refusing to move until he got some answers.

Will Roberts, 43, from Bradley Stoke, said the vibration from the vehicle on a building site behind his home was an "ongoing nightmare" which caused his whole house to vibrate all day long when it was used over the past few months.

He was also concerned that the vibration would cause structural damage to his house.

Yesterday, Mr Roberts, who runs a wheelie bin cleaning business from home, approached the JCB driver to complain.

When the driver told him that his boss would be in touch, Mr Roberts decided to stage a protest demanding something be done immediately.

He said: "This has been disrupting my life and I had had enough. I wanted some answers and this was the only way I was going to get any."

Roy James, site manager for Cardiff-based company Lex Facilities and Construction, who were carrying out the work on the site where office blocks have been built, came to speak with Mr Roberts and the situation was resolved.

He said: "We were levelling off a mud heap which Mr Roberts had complained about because people could stand on it and look into his home.

"We have stopped using the roller on the JCB, which is what was causing the vibration. As it happens, we were going to stop using it after today anyway."
