Bristol man guilty of murder
Bristol man Bradley Payne has been found guilty of the murder of 43-year-old John Derrick.
A jury at Bristol Crown Court heard Payne, 32, of Witch Hazel Avenue, Hartcliffe, stabbed the father-of-two in the stomach and through his left eye during a confrontation in Gatehouse Avenue, Bishopsworth, in July last year.

Following a two week trial Payne was also found guilty of making a threat to kill and unlawfully wounding Aaron Bennington in an incident which occured a month earlier.
UPDATE 3pm Payne has been given a life sentence for the murder of John Derrick. Payne was told he must serve a minimum of 16 years.
