Bristol man accused of assaulting police officers
An 18-year-old Bristol man appeared in court charged with assaulting two police officers yesterday.
It is alleged that Joseph Durcan, of Kennard Rise, Warmley, assaulted the constables on October 10 in Nelson Street. It is also alleged that he used abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
Bristol Magistrates Court heard yesterday how Durcan was drunk and being violently ill while hanging out of a car window before the incident occurred. Police officers are said to have pulled Durcan out of the car by his hair, which is when the alleged assault happened.
The case was adjourned until November 9 for CCTV of the incident to be obtained. Durcan was granted unconditional bail.
