Bristol majorettes with national prize for fifth time
A group of Bristol majorettes have been crowned national champions for the fifth year in a row.
The Bristol Harlequins, who train in Patchway twice a week, competed in the national finals in Taunton and held on to their title.
The group of more than 30 youngsters, aged between five and 19, performed routines in different groups including baton twirling, pom pom routines and marches.
Their coach, Karen McMillen said: "We are all very pleased to have kept the title. The best honour was winning the pom pom routine because we hadn't won that before. My eldest daughter, Josie, choreographed some of the routines."
The group also had success with two girls who performed a duet. Summer-Lea Trim and Danni Wright, both aged 10, did so well that they have been selected to represent England at an international competition in Croatia.
