Bristol lap dancing club decision delayed
A meetng to discuss plans for a lap dancing club in Old Market has been delayed.
Proposals have been submitted to Bristol City Council to convert the former Ghana Goods shop in West Street, which is next to an existing lap dancing club. The plans are for a restaurant by day and a lap dancing club by night, with two flats at second and third floor level.
The decision was due to be made at a meeting yesterday, but it has been deferred to December 15 due to officer illness. Campaign group The Old Market Community Association opposes the proposal, arguing it would only add to the street's "seedy image". Applicant Mr Zadeh, who has invested £1 million in the venue, argues the club would help attract money into the area and create jobs.
