Bristol ice hockey team the Pitbulls downed their hockey sticks and gave waiter-service a go to raise money for charity.

The team served diners at Pizza Hut in Cribbs Causeway in return for donations which will go to World Hunger Relief, which supports the UN World Food Programme.

The Pitbulls then took on the Gosport Devils in a Halloween special match on Saturday, with prizes for the best fancy dress spectator. There were raffles and face painting, with all proceeds going to the charity.

Team manager Rich Hargreaves said: "We're lucky enough to be in a situation to help, if being involved in a sport can help to make a difference then we are more than happy to do our bit.

"It was a really fun day, we did some serving and pestered people into giving donations. We won the match 10-4 so it was a fairytale ending. It was the icing on the cake."

The total money raised is still in the process of being counted.
