A stolen van which hit a policeman in Bristol as he tried to stop the occupants fleeing the scene of a burglary has been found.

Cannabis plants were found inside the white Ford Fiesta Courier, which was found dumped in Seymour Road, Easton.

As reported in yesterday's Post, the 27-year-old officer was injured trying to stop two suspects getting away after police were called to Chaplin Road in Easton just after 2.30pm on Monday.

He was hit by the van and suffered a minor leg injury which needed treatment at the BRI.

The van sped off towards Stapleton Road and then went the wrong way along Kensington Park.

Its driver was described as a mixed-race man in his 20s. The passenger was a white man in his 20s.
