Bristol & Clifton-based golfer Paul Reed has had his dreams of a career on the lucrative European Tour shattered at this year's Qualifying School First Stage tournament after a three-over-par 75 on day three.

But the hopes of another local player – Adam Carson – are still alive after he managed a two-under par-70.

Carson, from Long Ashton GC, said: "I'll need five- or six-under to get through, but I'm striking the ball well, so I'm still hopeful."
