These four students from the City of Bristol College walked to Bath and back to raise money for charity.

Sixteen-year-olds Charlotte Josham, from Knowle; Elly Robbins, from Fishponds; Becca Welling, from St George; and Emma Fitzpatrick, from Stockwood; are studying for a BTec in health and social care. The money raised from sponsorship, which has not been counted up yet, will go to Mary's Meals, a charity which provides school meals for more than 340,000 children in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe.

The girls took two hours, 20 minutes to get to Bath and three hours to get back.

Charlotte said: "It was ok, but quite a long way. We stopped for lunch in Bath and to keep us going we played lots of games along the way like naming an animal from every letter of the alphabet.

"We were all very tired afterwards but it was worth it – it was all for a good cause."
