A series fires which were started in Bristol on the same day after a man was stabbed could be linked, say police.

Last Sunday, at about around 3am in the morning there was a fight outside the Black Swan pub in Stapleton Road in which a man was stabbed. He was later discharged from hospital after treatment.

Police say that at 7am a fire, possibly started deliberately, broke out at the pub. A taxi driver in a silver car like a Vauxhall Zafira who stopped to help put out the fire is being asked to contact officers.

And detectives say that at around the same time a fire was reported at a house in Thickett Road in Fishponds.

There was a third fire, again possibly deliberate, at around 7.10am at a house in Webb Street, Easton.

And at approximately 9am some windows were smashed at another house in Ashley Road, Montpelier.

Police want to hear from any witnesses or from anyone who may have information. They should contact Bristol CID on 0845 456 7000. Or call the charity Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
