The 41-year-old was aiming to complete the jog in three hours but, after weeks of intensive training, managed two hours and 14 minutes.
Mr Weightman was motivated to complete the feat because his brother-in-law is in the Special Forces Support Group Parachute regiment and, having seen action in Iraq, is shortly to be deployed to Afghanistan.
He also has another brother-in-law who was in 3 Para and saw fierce combat in Afghanistan in 2006.
After completing the run Mr Weightman said: "The response was fantastic and there were lots of tooting cars to support me.
"When taking photos at the station, a young soldier thanked me, which really was the highlight of the day. I managed to raise £741 in the end."
