Defence barristers have been making their closing speeches in the trial of two men said to be involved with a Bristol drugs gang that was believed to be making £1 million a week from cocaine.

Bristol Crown Court heard police were called to a reported burglary of James Waithe's flat at 79 Highridge Green. The officers found a ten tonne hydraulic press, white powder, cutting agents, and an "arsenal" of weapons and ammunition.

Waithe, 47, denies conspiracy to supply cocaine, possession of firearms to endanger life and possession of firearms and explosives.

Robert Brooks, 63, of no fixed address, admitted the drugs conspiracy but denies the firearms charges.

Grant Richmond, of Long Cross, Lawrence Weston, and Craig Rodel, 46, of Wexford Road, Bristol, and Luke Downes, 22, of Pevensey Walk, Bristol, all admitted being involved in the conspiracy.

The case continues on Monday for summing up.
