Bristol drug dealer jailed
A Bradley Stoke man who admitted he intended to push class A drugs has been jailed for three years.
Police found £3,000 contaminated with heroin in a safe at the home of Craig Kennington in The Hedgerows, Bristol Crown Court was told. He was also found to have a key for a friend's safe, which contained heroin with a street value of £11,000 and cocaine worth £503.
Kennington, 24, admitted possessing cocaine and heroin with intent to supply.
Jailing him for three years, Judge John Foley told him: "All those who behave in the way you behaved can expect immediate sentences of some length.
"I have regard for the weight, purity and value of the drugs, as well as guideline cases of higher courts. I also endeavour to achieve parity, consistency and fairness."
The judge ordered Kennington forfeit the £3,000, said to be the proceeds of crime.
Don Tait, prosecuting, said police first searched Kennington's friend's home at Squires Court, Bedminster, where they found a small black safe under a bed and some scales.
Police also uncovered a kilo of powder under the kitchen sink, which turned out to be mannitol, a cutting agent for cocaine.
Mr Tait added that police also searched Kennington's home, where they found the contaminated cash and key to his friend's safe.
In interview, Kennington, whose previous convictions were for drugs possession, made no comment.
