Bristol dinner lady hangs up her apron . . . at 81
A dinner lady who has served more than two million diners since she started drawing her pension is finally hanging up her apron.
Gwen Fussell, 81, who has worked at Mangotsfield School since she was 60, is thought to be Bristol's oldest dinner lady. A presentation will be made to her at the school on Friday to mark her retirement.

Mrs Fussell said she had decided to leave because her friend could no longer give her a lift to school each day.
"I get on with all the children and have a bit of fun," she said.
"I've loved working here and will miss it very much, but I have three children and nine grandchildren and will be able to see them more often."
Deputy head teacher Andrew Wait said: "Gwen has been an inspiration for Mangotsfield students for over 20 years. She is everybody's favourite grandmother; students are never rude to her as there is mutual respect between them. Gwen will be missed by everybody."
