Plans have gone on show outlining improvements to cycle routes through Filton, Patchway and Downend.

Cyclists and other road users can see the proposals and make their comments before the details are finalised.

South Gloucestershire Council has drawn up the proposals as part of the Cycling City project to provide continuous cycle lanes along the roads, linking businesses, schools and homes and improving links to off-road paths along the ring road.

Route 17 will involve nearly three miles of improvements along the A38 Gloucester Road, going north from Northville Road to the Aztec West roundabout near junction 16 of the M5. Improvements include upgrading and linking existing cycle lanes and providing new lanes for those on bikes.

The plans can be seen until Monday, November 16, with route 17 on show in Filton Leisure Centre and the others in Downend Library.

“Wow! A whole 3 miles? Can you give a bit more info so I can move to one end of the 3 miles and get a job at the other so that it will be useful for my commute. So far zero of the "new" paths or improvements to anything have been any use to myself or anyone that I know. Cy Killing Shi44y”
