A search has begun for 20 children to join an environmental think tank for seven to 14 year olds.

The think tank, called Our Planet, Our Say, is part of British Gas's Generation Green schools programme.

It aims to give the younger generation a voice on climate change and the problems they will have to face in the future.

Children can nominate themselves or be nominated by friends, parents, teachers or any adult at the website www.generationgreen.co.uk until Wednesday, May 20. To enter, children or whoever nominates them, will need to write 100 words explaining why they deserve to be part of Our Planet, Our Say and upload this via the website.

Marius Frank, head teacher of Bedminster Down School in Bristol, said: "We're registered with Generation Green and giving our students a chance to be part of Our Planet, Our Say so that they can voice their opinions and perhaps influence decision-makers is a positive step."
