Bristol are through to the Bristol & District Cup third round after thrashing Division III club Bristol Indians.

Opener Charlie Walker finished three runs short of a half-century before Richard Lake smacked 64 in Bristol's 213-6.

Sahil Patel, who took 2-35, top scored in the Indians' 82 all out. Neil Pollard took 4-8 off four overs and Bobby Brown finished with 3-38.

Failand-based Bristol have yet to win the competition but, under their former name Optimists, have taken the trophy 10 times since 1966.

In the battle between the two Bristol & North Somerset strugglers, Nailsea overcame Timsbury (102 all out) by five wickets. David Blower top scored with 27 for Nailsea.

James King (59 not out) and Sam Dukes (64 not out) guided Bristol & Somerset side Stapleton to a 12-run victory over Bristol Sri Lankans. Chasing 160-3, the Sri Lankans, who play in Division I of the Bristol & District League, were all out for 148 despite Nawag hitting 59.

Bristol YMCA cruised to a 10- wicket win in their first-round clash with Carsons/Mangotsfield, who were skittled out for 61.

Nadeem cracked 77 for PAK Bristolians, who made 141-5 before bowling out fellow Senior Division high fliers Twyford House for 82.

Senior Division basement side St Mary Redcliffe hung on for a three- run victory against Division II outfit Patchway, while Coalpit Heath (136-7) went through because they conceded fewer wickets as their game with Lodway (136-9) ended in a tie.
