Bristol boxers Stewart and Cummings to return to the ring next month
Bristol professional boxing duo Dan Stewart and Adam Cummings return to the ring in Swindon on Friday, December 4.
And the former railway town has proved a happy hunting ground for the two light-welterweights – neither has ever lost there.
Cummings, 30, is seeking a fourth win over Jimmy Briggs as he marks the first anniversary of his professional debut.
And he is itching to get back into the ring after a sprained ankle ruled him out of a scheduled fight in Torquay at the end of October.
Cummings does not have to go far to get an assessment of his next opponent – Briggs was beaten on by his regular sparring partner Stewart in his last outing in Devon.
The 21-year-old Barnstaple man's greatest asset is a resolute guard and the Bristolian will have to be both patient and determined in his approach to this six-round encounter.
Fresh from his success over Briggs, Stewart faces former Home Counties ABA champion Mark McCullough in his 10th outing since trading in his vest.
And the 23 year-old Bristolian knows that there is no room for complacency in their six-round clash at the Oasis Leisure Centre against a rival who boasts two stoppages among his five victories.
