Bristol boxer Bailey wins classic contest on Hengrove show
Bristol boxer David Bailey further enhanced his growing reputation by out-gunning arch rival Warren Sheppard on a National Smelting Company ABC show at Henbury.
Former ABA champion Bailey traded punches with his Paddy Johns ABC rival in a thrilling top-of-the-bill encounter that event organiser Garry Cave described as "a war."
He said: "The show was a complete sell out and we had to turn them away on the door later in the night.
"It was one of the best shows we’ve done in years - the atmosphere was electric."
