Bristol biker killed on Downs named

A biker who was killed after a crash on Durdham Down on Sunday has been named by police as Mark Pointer.

The 36-year-old, who lived in Oldbury Court, Fishponds, died after his Yamaha bike collided with a Vauxhall Vectra at the junction of Ladies Mile and Stoke Road.

Paramedics were called at 7.30pm, but Mr Pointer was declared dead at the scene.

The driver of the car was treated for shock and taken to the Bristol Royal Infirmary for treatment.
