Bristol Zoo staff left shocked by vandals' rampage
STAFF at Bristol Zoo have been left "saddened" after vandals daubed its entrance with graffiti and smashed the glass-fronted doors.
The incident, which was at the zoo's entrance in Guthrie Road, is thought to have happened overnight between 5pm on Monday and Tuesday morning.
Police believe it is possible the incident happened about 4.30am on Tuesday.
Officers are currently appealing for witnesses to the incident, which they are treating as criminal damage.

Police believe it is possible that a number of people may have been returning from New Year's Eve parties and may have been in the Guthrie Road area during the early hours of the morning.
A spokeswoman for the zoo said: "In the early hours of New Year's Day, Bristol Zoo was vandalised resulting in several windows being smashed.
"No entry on to the premises was gained and nothing was stolen. The police have been contacted.
"Bristol Zoo would like to reassure guests that we are open as usual.
"We feel saddened that someone would chose to do this to a local landmark, and we will assist the police with their enquiries any way we can."
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have information or may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area.
