A season of food kicks off tomorrow with The Bristol Vegan Fayre. Now in its seventh year, the event, which claims to be the world's biggest vegan event, is set to draw 10,000 people to the Amphitheatre and Waterfront square. More than 100 stalls will cover all aspects of the vegan lifestyle from cookery demonstrations to ethical clothing as well as live music.

Organisers say the two-day festival is a big party in the centre of town with two stages for bands plus a performance stage and kids area

Headlining on Saturday is Ian Dury's band The Blockheads with reggae legend Horace Andy performing on Sunday, support acts include The King Blues and SohoDolls.

There is a larger cookery demonstration area this year, hosted by resident pirate Long John Tofu, who will be speaking about the secrets of cruelty-free cooking. A licensed bar, DJs, expert talks, free tasters and samplers also feature in the event.
