Annie Hudson, pictured, the council's director for children, said: "We have been thrilled by the positive response to Protecting Our Children. The feedback has focused on the success of the programmes in opening up the world of child protection and giving a realistic insight into the challenges and dilemmas faced by social workers across the country."
Work by Bristol programme makers on hit series Frozen Planet, Autumn Watch, Wonders Of The Universe and DIY SOS has also brought nominations.
Chairman of industry organisation Bristol Media, Paul Appleby, said: "The nominations are a clear reflection of the great range of talent in the city – not only do we lead the world in natural history, we make great social documentary, create multi-platform content for web and mobile and have some of the world's finest editors, graphic and sound designers.
"And it truly is a Bristol community – between them, the nominees have hundreds of years of experience based in Bristol."

“What an excellent programme "protecting Our Children" was. Made me see the work of social workers in a totally different way.
I suggest some history lessons for That_Guy as I think he will find that the facists were a little more extreme that the Social Workers, whatever he may think of them.”
