Bristol Rovers vs Accrington Stanley: Harrold at the double for rampant Rovers
Matt Harrold took his goal tally for the season to 18 with a first half double as Rovers won 5-1 to run riot for the second successive home game.
Harrold headed the home side in front in the 11th minute and doubled the advantage with a 22nd minute penalty after Mustapha Caryol was brought down.
Andy Dorman swept home a stunning volley from Harrold's 29th minute cross before Kevin McIntyre's in swinging corner deceived Scott Bevan to make it 3-1.
Substitute Matt Lund volleyed in another Carayol cross after 58 minutes to settle any doubt about the outcome and added the fifth with a low drive on 73 minutes.

The convincing win followed Rovers' 7-1 demolition of Burton Albion in their previous game at the Memorial Stadium and things are looking bright for the future under Mark McGhee.
.Accrington contributed to a richly entertaining game and Bevan had to make a brilliant 56th minute save from Padraig Amond's header.

“I don;t see any reason speculating when there is absolutely NO need to speculate. It is divisive and negative.
To put it into a bigger picture this country is being ruined by speculators; speculators on shares, on house prices, on commodities, on politics, on the peccadilloes of the rich and famous, on everything... Instead of actually just quietly getting on with life and making things / creating things, speculators just talk and talk about rubbish, and create nothing in life.
There are 100's of excellent unemployed / resting managers around. Why pay compensation for someone who in his own admission has 'done nothing' and felt embarrassed to have a lap of honour. I appreciate he is trying to be humble about his achievement, but as he is suggesting, mid-table in lge 2 is hardly promotion to the Championship.
We had our chance with Dean Holdsworth ages ago. Too late now. You need to get them BEFORE they prove themselves and then cost money. We've taken our gamble on a young manager once before (Mr Chuckle) - can;t see it happeneing again soon.”

“We have spent the last 18mths speculating about managers, so lets change it now we have one who cant wait for next season, and speculate on who he might want to bring in.”

“Not being negative at all manchestergas.
If money talks for Carayol why not Mark McGhee ?
In fact I think Dean Holdsworth could do an excellent job for Rovers. If you look at the stats since 14th January Aldershot have averaged 1.81 points per game against Rovers 1.55 and Dean has done it with a much lower playing budget.
"Be prepared" is my motto :)”

“Erinoidground - I hope (pray) that the reason Lee brown isn;t being played much at the moment is because MM has already seen how good he is and doesn;t need to see any more of him. Surely he has had one of the best ever first seasons in professional footy for a new gas signing.
Sawyer can apparently fill several slots but the problem is that he doesn;t fill any of them taht well, and is presumbaly also on lge 1 wages. I can;t see any point keeping him, especially if he keeps better players out of the team.
gas123 - I don;t remember any good looking lad on the pitch but I remember the Rovers Runner :-) Glad you got away safe...”

“Great end to the season at home, dreamland. Some of the one-touch passing against Accrington was sublime and several of the players have touched new heights. Matt Harrold was perfect in everything he did in the first 30 mins. Very pleased for him in terms of the goals, he works so hard and takes a lot of physical punishment. Not as good at the back without Parkes, but Smith did very well on the right. Delighted that Lee Brown got a chance - has to be a better bet than Sawyer who continues to unimpress. Hope he doesn't come back. Good to see Downes fit again, but I am not that sure of him. Uncertainty at centre back position because of loanees. Still, MM is excited about next season and the fans should be too.Two or three key acquisitions could propel us into promotion candidates.”

“as Kyngsmeadboy wrote, 34 points in 21 games since Buckle. 1.62 points per game. IF (big if) that was continued over 46 games we would have 74.5 points. That would be a guaranteed play-off place, with a winnable game left as well.”
