On-loan Bristol Rovers striker Sean Rigg has been cleared to play for Forest Green in tomorrow's FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie at Mangotsfield United.

The 21-year-old has spent the past two months on loan at the New Lawn, netting six goals in 13 matches, and looks set to remain with the Blue Square Premier outfit until November 21.

Rigg's availability is a welcome relief for Forest Green boss Dave Hockaday, who has seen his side lose their last three matches and injuries mount within the squad.

Last Saturday's 5-2 defeat at Histon – a repeat of the previous week's scoreline at home to AFC Wimbledon – left Hockaday worried about the willingness of his players to graft in tough times.

He said: "I do need everybody back, as everyone knows we've got decent options when the squad is fully fit.

"But, having said that, injuries are an excuse and I'm not prepared to resort to that. We've lost the last two games not because the opposition have been better than us but because they wanted it a little bit more.

"That is not something I've ever been prepared to put up with during my coaching career and I certainly won't put up with it now."

Hockaday is unlikely to be able to make sweeping changes to his line-up at Cossham Street, with Josh Ford, Steve Davies, Paul Lloyd, Conal Platt and Tomi Ameobi all occupying the treatment room this week.

Longer-term absentees Andy Taylor, Lee Ayres and Mike Fowler remain sidelined but utility man Curtis McDonald (ankle) could be involved for the first time since September 19.

Mangotsfield are in the bottom three of the Zamaretto South and West Division – three leagues below Forest Green.
