Former Bristol Rovers and Liverpool defender Nicky Tanner is the new manager of Hellenic League Division One West side Winterbourne United.

Winterbourne were beaten 4-2 at Purton on Saturday.

United trailed 4-0 before James Mainstone and Scott Cameron pulled two goals back.

In the Hellenic League Premier Division, Almondsbury Town trailed 2-0 at Binfield before hitting back to earn a point.

Binfield, who are unbeaten at home, took an early lead through Carl Withers before Jermaine Gumbs added a second just before the interval. However, Ross Stearn scored twice in the second half to salvage a point for Almondsbury.
