Former Bristol Rovers star Jamie Shore searching for stars of the future in Bristol

Former Bristol Rovers star Jamie Shore is seeking football stars of the future in the West.

His company, Jamie Shore Soccer International, has signed a sponsorship deal with Virtual Learning UK and is offering youngsters in Bristol an opportunity to sign up to the new Football and Educational Scholarship programme.

Designed for boys aged between 16 and 19, the course begins in September this year and Shore and his team of coaches will be holding trials at the Clifton College Sports Ground on Abbots Leigh Road from next Tuesday.

Shore, whose Rovers career was cut short by injury, said: “Our aim is to continue to develop quality footballers and ensure that all of our boys are prepared for their future by providing a full time, BTEC Level 3 Diploma.

“This will provide boys with the qualifications to take them into university or to gain employment within sport.

“We are offering exclusive access to 3g grass pitches, changing rooms, gym, classrooms and canteen for players. Boys will get 10 hours of coaching per week, a full games programme and a strength and conditioning schedule.”

Shore and his team will stage a presentation evening at South Bristol Sports Centre in West Town Lane on March 17.

Trials will take place at the Clifton Sports Ground on the following dates:

March 12, 15, 19 and 22. April 9, 12, 16 and 19. All sessions runs between 7-8.30pm.
